3 Ways to Boost Your Website Traffic

Is your website getting enough visitors? A good traffic generation strategy is at the heart of any successful website – after all, if you don’t have real people visiting your website in sufficient quantities, there isn’t much it can do to support your business.

Here are three ways to boost your website traffic:

Pay for it
Paid search advertising is the fastest way to get traffic to your website. If you need traffic in a hurry, a good search marketing campaign can be inexpensive and quick to set up and should start getting results almost immediately. I recommend using Chris at Chris Mole Media to get started.

Cultivate quality links
Google likes sites that other people already like. So if you want Google to find you and start showing your site to more people – then you need some quality websites in your industry (or related/adjacent industries) to link to your site. Now you don’t want links from just anywhere – the most valuable links are from websites that are relevant to your business, established and already popular.

So how do you get these links?

Link building is really relationship building. No reputable business will link to another website unless they know, like or trust the product or content. So link building can take time. There’s a reason why Google pays so much attention to backlinks – good ones are hard to get!

Here are a few ideas to get you thinking:

  • Check with your suppliers to see if they have a place on their website where they link out to their customer’s websites – or maybe they will link to your site from a testimonial or case study.
  • Write an article for an online industry publication
  • Collaborate with other businesses to create some sort of guide – eg a Father’s Day gift guide, Long Weekend DIY project guide, Kitchen Renovation planner … You can promote the guide on all your respective websites – and Voilá, backlinks for everyone + it can be a great way to build your email list.
  • Create valuable content that people want to share

Play a long game
Start creating content for your website. Having a consistent publishing schedule for new articles, case studies, product how-to’s or industry news & opinion will set your site up to enjoy regular targeted traffic from search engines.

Content is the reason search began in the first place
